Yesterday I went to a disco with some friends. After a couple of beers I saw this tall 8/10 blonde by my side. I touched her and asked:

Me: How high are you?

Blonde: 1.80m

M: You are blonde and tall. You look European. (We are in south America)

B: I am not European, but I have one here with me. She is finnish.

Me [excited because I love Finland]: Seriously!? Where is she?

She points her out to me and I introduce myself in finnish. The three girls get obviously surprised. We switch to English and chat for a while. When I was feeling that the conversation was fun and pleasant they decided to go grab beers. Me and my other two friends get back to talking (they were not active in the conversation because they are shy of speaking English). We agree that the girls are hot, rich and friendly. After some 10 minutes a friend shows me that they got back where we were, but not close to us. I tell them we should wait for the girls to come to us. I wanted them to chase us, not the other way around. Some minutes later, they get back close to us and we kept chatting for hours. We were the center of attention of that part of the club. Every now and then random people came close to listen to us. And I was friendly to them, trying to make them a part of our conversation. Then came this dude. He starts caressing my hair. I jokingly tell him I am gay but not that gay (big mistake) and take his hand out of my hair. I get my attention back to the girls and we chat for another hour or so. I got a little too drunk. Then they tell me they have to leave because it is too late and the finnish girl has an early flight.

Then I realize my mistake. I was having so much fun with the conversation that I didn't make a single move.

What I did right:

  • I started a conversation with a girl out of my league without thinking too much. Which in my opinion prevents approach anxiety awkward conversation starters.
  • Managed to keep a good conversation for everyone.
  • I was very confident and not intimidated at all.

What I did wrong and what I should have done.

  • I joked about being gay. Which probably disqualified me as a potential mate for them. I should have told the guy not to touch me because my finnish girlfriend is jealous, and proceed to hold her hand or something. Perfect excuse for physical escalation ;)
  • I didn't make a single move. I should have been more flirty and get to the point.
  • I got drunk. I should have stopped drinking at some point.

TL;DR: Started a great interaction with 3 cute girls but didn't make a move.
