It is funny because it's also a "negging" (negative) banter line used by guys when joking around with females.

I had a fairly short, skinny housemate in college who did OK with women. He had a somewhat weird habit of walking around the house with no shirt on. It turned on a couple of the women who also lived in the house and once or twice they literally grabbed him for random makeouts.
