Opening your arms out to offer a hug for a girl. How did you get over your nerves with this offer? What should you do after if she refuses or gives a very limp/reluctant hug?

Bro, you’re talking about a hug, a common greeting one step up from a handshake. You shouldn’t be overthinking it at all. Personally, I don’t hug girls I’m sexually interested in. I see it as a friendly gesture or one creepy guys do for physical validation.

Jeez why are you overthinking, I proly could go up to any girl rn and randomly hug er cuz I can turn that in a joke. Don't overthink it's no big deal. When the interaction ends and you say goodbye just go for a hug. So what if she doesn't hug ya back? I for example just jokingly make a sad face. Girls have refused to hug me too and I don't see a problem or cause for nervousness there. It's nothing to be stressed about it. Don't smell shitty doe.
