first reason: women sympathize with "team girl" and genuinely want her to be pretty. the compliments are hamstering in the second person second reason: on some level they are aware this is a creature who is failing biologically. they are relieved they do not look like that. they encourage poor decisions to keep themselves on top, a natural female behavior they do not even notice in themselves third reason: they are controlled by their emotions. even just writing emotional crap makes them feel good inside. they do not actually mean it

I think the way women socialize with eachother is pretty vicious. For instance, take this fatty you just linked us to.
Women are rewarding her with positive reinforcement. Now, what does that do? It removes a sexual competitor for male attention.
Women will pay compliments to eachother as if to make someone believe that they are doing a good thing in whatever they are doing [insert activity/hobby/whatever], and then talk shit behind their backs.
Its like high school, but on a much more open level. Women try to keep other women out of their way by telling them they are doing great in life, when really, bitches are fucking relieved this person is a landwhale.
I hope I drove my point across.

Exactly my point. She KNOWS she is fat, so she is getting approval, validation from other women. When others compliment her on living like a slob, she thinks she is doing a good job and that she is fine the way she is. Solipsism.
But what OTHER women are doing by complimenting her, is they are removing her from the sexual game. She is one less woman they need to worry about protecting their "catch" [read: man] from.
