I am living in Japan as a undergrad student. I am fluent in english and pretty average in Japanese but, if you know anything about Japanese language it is very respectful and formal. The thing is, if Japanese girls can speak English, I can pretty much dominate a conversation with some humor. But, in Japanese it’s very formal and I am not able to charm them. It’s not that I can’t speak or hold a conversation. It feels like there is nothing interesting when I speak Japanese. The feeling is Ineffable.
