I understood after many years of trial and error and self-introspection that the main issue that I had and I think many others do is that we are not comfortable, at ease and at peace with our desires.

You can easily see this in the fact it feels hard to express interest as if we cannot separate the desire from the expectation.

It's like trying to give something but wanting to let go because you are afraid of not getting something in return vs just giving something for free for the sake of being true to yourself.

Realizing that you can express your desire free of expectation was a huge turning point for me that allowed me to feel comfortable expressing my interest with lightness and innocence almost, without being creepy and saved me from the friend zone many times.
