Hey guys
Im (28/m) thinking of deleting my dating app accounts but the thought of 'maybe the next one' keeps me from doing so. Been using apps on and off since 2015.
On one hand, I have pretty good success with dating apps. I do get dates and numbers and do get responses 90% of the time. Also made some valuable life experiences.
On the other hand, using apps just feels toxic and unnatural. I think the online dating stuff has taken a toll on my mental well being and all this negative energy that accumulated over the years is now surfacing. Stuff like dry-spells, ghosting and so on (things that are part of the game).
Right now, I am at a point where I know exactly what type of girl suits me and what I want. Occasionally, I also get approached by girls in real life and that feels a lot better to me than mere texting and swiping.
I want to quit OLD for good since right now, it does me more harm than good, but doing it leaves me with a fear of missing out. Like what if the next girl I message will be exactly the type of girl that suits me?
Do you still use dating apps?
