I have been lifting with a progressive plan for the past 2 years, half the time under the guidance of a personal trainer. I track my daily macros and calories and train 4x a week + cardio. Improvement is noticeable but the best results are yet to come.

My question is for those guys that regularly post about massive confidence boosts only after 6, 9, 12 months of lifting. Where are you getting it? There surely can’t be any jaw dropping results in 6 months unless it’s from bad physic to less bad physique. Besides, lifter hold aesthetics standard much higher than regular people so they push themselves even more because they are not satisfied with what an average person would already call “fit”.

The way I see it, good results are achievable within 3-5 years and top form can be achieved after you spent 5-8 years lifting. Any massive confidence boost earlier must be based somewhere else if it’s really even there.

What is your take on that?
