Okay so, i have something of a problem i run into frequently, and i suspect it comes from an underlying issue with narcissism. I keep falling into a pattern of trying to impress.
I need to know what i should be aiming at in social situations with women so i don't fall into this pattern of trying to impress them. The reason i find this so tricky is because a lot of the underlying reasons one may get into improving their game comes from the desire to be seen as favorable.. So it is almost as if the desire to impress is inherently rooted in the process.
There are times when i'm not trying to impress, but this will often result in me doing nothing. I fear i either come across as boring, or tryhard.
In other words, trying not to act from a place of trying to impress is fundamentally coming from a place of trying to impress. So how do i shake this frame of mind entirely? I really need to know what i should be aiming at.
Anyone have any tips for this? What should i be thinking in the moment? What should i be aiming at if not to impress?
