You probably just need to start with just growing your hair out before you can start actually developing a style. Growing up my hair was super short and I just get a buzzcut everytime. It took a few months to grow out the top and it kinda sucked in that time period to get to a decent length where it was stylable, but now I love my hairstyle.

In terms of finding a hairstyle I just googled hairstyles and found one that I thought would look good on me. There's a subreddit thats all about male hair and you can upload a pic of yourself to get suggestions, or you can browse it to get inspiration.

Also stop going to greatclips and look for an actual barber!

Hairstyles are best used for contrast of your face shape and have a hairstyle where your hair type is being complimented. You want to try and aim where you aren't just creating an extension of your face shape but have it stand out.

For example I have a round face with wavy hair. So I grew my hair out and use products to lift it up. I also use a side part quif since it keeps it a tad more organized if I just left it alone.

There are a couple of stylist youtubes out there that offer the same advice. I know DLM Model has a few videos on the subject, but other like The Modest Man might have covered the subject too.
