I had huge years in pandemic and now it’s back to normal. Wife stays at home and covered kids while I travelled. No issues paying maintenance. Child support in my state is 10-11% of gross for both base and bonus. We are trying to figure out the spousal support percentage and I wonder if there is a general rule of thumb? Specifically on my commissions, the base pay is easier to determine. I’m looking at 10 years of support so want to be thoughtful on how it’s structured. Likely looking at 30-40% net of commissions taken out, which stings.
