So I'm a student currently and I would love some advice on this aspect of life.

I can't be a leader in social groups as well as in team building situations. Most of my friends think I don't have the right habits for the same thing, and I think I don't have the right influence (grew up around betas, most family members are service class and workers). I don't have any experience of a business and in social groups too I'm an utter failure.

I'm not taken seriously at all in my social groups. I know the first thought that comes to mind is that I'm not offering enough value, but the thing is that I try my best to offer value but somehow fail. There is a friend of mine in my social group who always, ALWAYS gets his way out and ridicules me if I want to do so. He by no means is an alpha, but for some reason I want to be like him (He gets his way almost always and tends to be liked by many people, probably because in college he is a good trustable student and I'm considered a slacker). A few days back when I was with my group I got really pissed at the fact that he was the one in control and he wasn't even letting me touch the food because apparently I wasn't supposed to eat anything since it was ordered by them (it's complicated but all he did was try to bring me down the heirarchy). He is one of those friends who is verbally superior than me and always tend to maintain frame. I lost it and that day I switched off the fans just to see how it feels to get my way, even though everybody else was objecting me; and even he was like 'don't you guys see-he has to tackle me) and it was HIM getting his way. Basically the power game, and he is one of those guys who always reminds me of my screw-ups (Yes, he's keeping track of my screw ups even though I'm trying to forget them).

Too complicated I know, but I've always been weak in verbal battles. With people like these I can't fight, and I can't get my way no matter what. I want to lead people but with people who disagree with me I generally lose control. A few days later I have an important meeting with my peers and I don't want it to fail. Also what are the 'right' habits I need to be a leader?

Physically I look dominating btw, and I'm ready to endure anything to reach that level. I'd appreciate an advice. Thanks!
