I tried and failed to get into a top fraternity at my school - I was in (knew brothers beforehand, told me I was going to receive a bid), but there were ultimately political issues id rather not get into that prevented me from joining.

Theres one more fraternity i would like to join this semester, but I am bros with less of the guys to begin with, and not ones that are in powerful positions to influence my success in getting a bid. I dont want to be needy, but this is my last option in terms of a very successful social life at my school (big parties are pretty exclusive to these fraternities).

My question is: how do I stand out to other men, specifically "frat bros"? At rush events, the brothers meet potentially 100-200 students trying to join. First impressions are of utmost importance. Unfortunately, with these types of guys, the friendships/acceptance usually come over time and not at a glance with me, and time is of the essence here.
