Except we can't create safe spaces at all. Any time we try to open a refuge for male victims of domestic abuse it gets derailed by misandrists. The therapy fallacy is ridiculous as well, more than half of male suicide victims pursue some form of therapy prior. Evidently the gynocentric approach to therapy isn't working for most men, and that says more about the therapy given than the recipient.

When men try to create community around these issues, we get shouted down and smeared with libels. Remember the Toronto university "fucking scum" debacle from a few years back?

Just yesterday I got accused of opposing women's liberation because I participate here, mensrights, and LWMA. They tell you to create community and then get upset when you do.

Seems like a fine time to remind everyone that creating no win situations (aka damned if you do, damned if you don't) is one of the hallmarks of emotional abuse.

Men used to have a great many safe spaces, until women forced the issue with new laws and lawsuits to invade men's spaces. And then change them to suit women.

There used to even be a boys-only Boy Scouts! Laws and lawsuits later - no longer boys-only.

Notice how there are NO efforts to force boys onto the Girl Scouts? "Safe spaces" are only for that privileged class, women, I guess.

I could really use a men's club or men-only gym.

Men had safe spaces, and communities, but women demanded "equality" as a means to invade them, all the while simultaneously demanding "safe spaces for women" that exclude men o.O

Every time men try to have a men's shelter, it's violently shut down, because it apparently "takes away the focus from women's victimhood" o.O

Same for family reform, from child custody, to alimony, to child support, etc always shut down because it would impact women's privileges.

That's not to mention the toxic femininity of shaming men for showing emotions, because it's an "ick", while hypocritically demanding men "be vulnerable" and "be emotionally available", so men are expected to be stoic, "provider/protectors", for women who are afforded the luxury to "be feminine and in their feminine energy".

The absolute gaslighting, man shaming, and male gatekeeping what it means to be "a real man", is obscene.

According to at least one study, 87% of gun suicides are male :( I only recently realized how harmful the "all men are scum" rhetoric is. My best friend's husband has some depression and mental health issues, and it's partly due to the fact that he feels like mainstream society doesn't value him.

It's because they know that as soon as they let one thread fall the whole web unravels. If men can have specific mental health problems and needs, not stressed properly by society as it stands, resulting from pressures in society as it stands, then that means shock, horror, men are people too, the vast majority of us don't benefit from the "patriarchy" or have immeasurably easier lives, etc.

The fantasy and justification behind most elements of female oppression/female victimhood rather than "many people are oppressed, disadvantaged and victimised in society" is so paper-thin that not a single caveat can be accepted. It's the emperor's new clothes, that's all.
