Men often complain that dating is unpredictable and random; however, over time I have observed certain scientific laws that can be translated into the dating world, and today we are going to look at 3 Laws of Physics and Isaac Newton and how they translate from the world of physics to the world of dating.
If you can internalise these laws and live by them, this will help you much more than learning random pick up lines or trying to come up with perfect text to send her. This has the potential to actually change your dating life. Let’s go.
First Law (Inertia):
"A body at rest stays at rest, and a body in motion stays in motion unless acted on by an external force."
In dating, if you are not taking real tangible action, nothing will change. I see so many guys complaining that their dating life is miserable, and yet they are clearly violating this first rule - they don’t do anything and stay at rest.
The only real action that counts in improving your dating life is how many women you put yourself in front of and how well you do it. Everything else is just noise.
In this case, the external force F = (number of women you talk to)*(dating social skills)
If you think you are spending lots of time working on your dating life, but you have talked to 5 girls in the last 30 days, you are applying force in the wrong areas and you will stay at rest.
This explains why most men unfortunately will never see success in dating - because they will find more and more things to procrastinate themselves with rather than actually going and talking to women.
Likewise, if you are talking to 100 girls in a month and seeing no results, the problem is the way you talk to them - your dating social skills.
If all you can do is go up to a girl, tell her she looks pretty, ask her where she’s going and then ask for her Instagram - then your dating social skills are very poor and the force F you apply will be minimal. And hence you will stay at rest.
Ask yourself honestly - how good are you flirting, active listening and storytelling skills? How charismatic and confident are you right now?
Also this law explains why often the two camps of men (those with successful dating lives and those without) cannot really relate to each other.
When you’re at rest, it’s extremely difficult to get started. You apply minimum force F and nothing changes, and you stay at rest. Then you think that the world has conspired against you and you will be stuck forever.
When you’re at motion and dating a lot of women, it feels pretty easy and you don’t need to keep applying as much force F to keep going.Â
So it does get easier with time - but if you’re currently at rest, it is going to take applying a lot of force F in the RIGHT areas to start moving.
Second Law (Force and Acceleration):
_"The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting upon it and inversely proportional to its mass."
Why do some guys get very good really fast, and then other guys improve extremely slowly?
There are two things that will determine how fast your progress is.
The first we already discuss - the net force F (effort) you are applying to your dating life.
So let’s actually talk about effort…
Do you have a plan on how you will get over your approach anxiety?
Have you mapped out at which times, where and how often you will go out to talk to at least 30 women per week?
Do you have a step by step strategy on how to talk to women once you approach them? What you will say in the first 10 seconds, how you’re going to stack, generate conversational topics, get them hooked etc?Â
How will you make sure you get them invested enough in the conversation, so they stay at least 10 minutes to talk to you? How will you ask them on a date, and what will you do after to make sure they actually come on the date?
What are you going to do when you get a harsh rejection, resistance kicks in and you want to quit? How will you stay consistent week after week?
Who is going to listen to your conversations and help you improve? What support groups will you have to make sure you keep going and execute on all of these steps day after day?
If you’re reading this and thinking - yeah, I haven’t really thought about these things then there’s your answer. Your current effort is not that high.
The other side of the coin is the mass m which in dating is the limiting beliefs and emotional baggage holding you back.
The bigger the m, the slower your progress will be.
Every once in a while I get messages from guys trying to explain to me their situation - they are too short, not the right ethnicity, not good looking enough and essentially that their situation is hopeless.Â
So even if I take this guy, give him the right strategy and literally hand hold him through the entire process like I do with my students, he won’t get results because he has already lost in his mind and he will never put 100% behind his actions. He has already been defeated.
So ask yourself - what limiting beliefs about yourself and dating do you hold right now? Do you feel like it’s possible for you to improve?
If you carry a lot of baggage and limiting beliefs around, it will be tough to accelerate your dating life. So how do you drop it?
First, find other people in your shoes who have been able to turn it around and improve. For example, on my channel I have transformational stories with introverted shy techies, young inexperienced guys who had never dated, short scrawny looking dudes - if you’re any of those, there’s your proof. If you don’t find any case you relate to there, look for other channels.
Second, convince yourself that it’s possible for you to do this. Not only because it’s true, but also because without doing it you will not take action and hence you are manifesting your limitations in reality.Â
Third Law (Action and Reaction):
"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."
Oftentimes guys talk about their experiences that they approached a girl in public a few times and got rejected badly.
The conclusion they make from it is that “daygame doesn’t work”.
However, that conclusion is simply not valid since there are plenty of guys for whom it does work.
The third law teaches us that the correct conclusion in this case would be - if all you get are rejections, the fault is in your actions.
I often see this with myself - sometimes there are days when I go out and I’m in a very logical, work mode and not very present. When I try to approach in this state, I get rejected a lot more and the interactions are quite short, girls tell me they have to go.
Whenever this happens, I remind myself that I need to fix my state, so that’s why nowadays usually before going out I try to work out or go for a run to get back in my body and my state is much better.
Same with skills. For example, I used to be quite bad at stopping women as they would often just walk past me.
So I worked on it a lot and it got better. I didn’t change anything about my appearance, where I approach or what type of girls I approach - just the way I approach (the action).
And the reaction of women improved as a result - they started to stop to talk to me.
So if you are currently getting mostly negative reactions ask yourself - where exactly are you getting the negative reactions and then how can you improve the actions you are taking?
I would also iterate on this law and say that also “for every INACTION, there is an equal and opposite reaction”
If you see a girl you want to approach but don’t, there is a reaction of disappointment in yourself.
If you are avoiding working on this part of your life algotether and procrastinating, you will get frustrated with yourself and your dating life. And every time you want to act but don’t, the frustration builds up even more.
In essence, everything that you do or don’t do will have some form of consequence in your life.
So these are a few things physics and Sir Isaac Newton can teach us about success in dating.
Until next time
