Having lived in Cardiff once upon a time, the gender ratio is something like 9:1 men to women, because women get automatic priority for housing. They are an "at risk" group, apparently.

According to the 2021 census, 67.1% of homeless people in Wales and England are men.

Notwithstanding this, the vast majority of safe temporary housing and resources are used for the benefit of women.

In addition, the sexist pigs writing these articles, and running homelessness services in the UK, are desperately trying to redefine homelessness to include women living in houses they don't really like, and add populations of impacted women using the old chestnut of "women more affected, we just can't find them, so we assume they are there".

How many homeless men die living rough in England and Wales, while these sexist pigs actively try to divert the funding and focus of homelessness services to women.

Whenever I see a story about a woman who's homeless with children my heart breaks. Not because she is homeless, but because the legal system would rather put children with homeless mothers than even try to find somebody else (like, I don't know, the father).
