Side info: I am in a loving relationship, but I am also a people observer so I am interested in the dating life of others (you know, all those woes and complaints you hear/witness people say about dating).
Continuing from the title: Yet, they don't for 99% of the time, and that is a problem (similar problem has been discussed here). They keep on dating men who approached them and then complain later that the men don't live up to standard. Slowly they learned a kind of attitude to lump all men as the same (sub-par standard) and do not actively engage with almost all men by default, or they put up some kind of wall or attitude, or try to keep themselves extremely busy (which they "unknowingly" also repelled high-quality men). Quote unquote because they probably know to some degree, but are too afraid to break their own bubble and admit that. Just think from any high-quality man perspective, being lumped together as some randos who do not deserve any of her best effort is the biggest turn off of all.
If anyone has a bit of common sense, then the remaining men who would still pursue these women are probably not the most respectful or have the best intention to say the least. With this information, these high-standard women still would not admit they should bear the biggest responsibility of their dating life. So, instead of keep complaining that "dating is broken", "giving up on all men", learn to take control and initiative. Cowards can't win in Nature, that's the raw reality of life. Society has been artificially setting safety nets after safety nets for cowards and that is harming us all by exchanging long-term contentment with short-term comfort. Think about how content one would feel, if they take initiative and get what they want, instead of waiting around trying to luck out amidst their high expectations.
