Nobody expects any intelligent conversation from a platform like Twitter/X, but I saw an utterly stupid comment from someone saying how men being victims of violence by women will never be equal (false, even if not the same numbers, women being violent to men still occurs in high numbers)

Unnecessary pain competition.

and then this same idiot went on about how we live in a "culture" men are regularly violent to women on a systemic basis.

Factually false.

Ugh. It's bad enough these idiots exploit women who are genuine victims to promote their misandry and try to downplay any type of female on male violence and make it out to not be an issue.

Their “concern” for victims of violence is pure virtue signaling.

But then they further play victim and claim that women suffering violence is somehow systemic? Do they seriously believe men in positions of power hate women so much they're seeing to it men all over are regularly harming women just for being women? It's so childish.

How is it systemic?

Any type of violence inflicted on women is always condemned but the other way around is always either laughed at, trivialized, brushed aside or outright ignored. It never ceases to amaze me how misandrists just pull this nonsense out of nowhere to enforce their victimhood.

Violence against men is systemic (conscription is legal).

How is violence against women systemic? What law not only allows but also encourages violence against women?

Don't know about violence against women but violence against men is definitely systemic, at least domestic/sexual violence certainly is.

From youth, we teach boys never to hit girls, but girls can hit and even beat boys and people say "she's just being playful" or "he did something to deserve it" or "she just has a crush on you". They grow up and we teach boys to respect women's consent, that no means no - we don't really teach the opposite. Men are taught how to treat women, women are taught how to expect to be treated by men.

We grow up surrounded by media where wives slapping their husbands is seen as peak comedy, but the opposite would cause outrage. Where we compare men to dogs that need to be "trained" by women, with dating advice books telling women to "treat a man like a dog". There's even children's books promoting similar messages, like "boys are stupid throw rocks at them". When men are abused we just call them "henpecked husbands", like they're just a normal occurrence and just how some women treat their husbands. When men try to call the police for DV they're often arrested themselves because of the Duluth model, so men are silenced by the police too.

There's countries where men legally can't be rape victims and in most countries women can't be charged with rape - so male victims, especially of female perpetrators, rarely receive justice. We have myths about the male body that allow people to laugh at the idea of male rape. When teachers rape male students we tell them to be grateful for the attention, because nobody cares about men having dignity or boundaries - even little boys. An old man who creeps on young girls is a pedophile, an old woman who creeps on young boys is a "cougar".

THAT'S rape culture, THAT'S a culture that normalizes and excuses violence. If there's any unfair power dynamics, they're definitely skewed against men when they can be victimized and then blamed, arrested or laughed at when reporting it.

It's pre-emptive territory claiming in order to silence how violence against boys and men is normalized if not outright celebrated. Classic fascist propaganda technique.
