It's tough guys. Two years separated and one divorcing, our agreement is our 6 y/o would spend time with each for one holiday and split the vacation time in half. This year I had Christmas and she has the New Year. I been getting her every couple of weeks for the weekend since March and the time flys and she goes home, no problems. This time though... I'm still working on moving out of my bad two bedroom apartment I share with a 17 y/o boy since the separation and don't have much cause I keep minimalistic, so I setup my room with her toys, plushies and bed covers I just got her. I took vacation days and spent almost every minute with her. This evening, time is up. The mom picks her up, good byes hugs and kisses are said. Going through the separations and divorce has hardened me and know how to control my emotions very well... but the moment I walked into the room, it hit me HARD. The "I❤️U" drawings taped to the wall, the big eyed puppies staring at me, the mess she made from the science experiments she got for Christmas. It hurts, a lot. I know the process, feel it out tonight and get up to fight the next day. Today I'm humbled, but now I'm even more determined to buy a home soon so next time she can have her own room and this time I can put a Christmas tree up. For any guys out there going thru pain these holidays, I feel you. This will pass and we have to work our way out of it. We have to move on creating our own story with our children, we can do it while divorced. Things are getting better. Just wanted to vent tonight with you all cause cause many are going thru this and it helped me reading something here at one time. Stay strong and good luck bros!
