Eventought this question is not about women I feel it somehow belongs in this sub, and I value the opinion of this sub.

Some background info:

I'm a 22 year old living in Europe that swallowed the pill a month ago. Raised as a muslim I am quite spiritual but not in a very strict way. For the rules that are imposed I don't eat pork and that's it. I guess each their own. The problem lays with my parents I'm only allowed to go out once in two weeks and even tough they don't mind me having sex with girls I'm not allowed to bring girls back home(Which causes some issues with the girls I'm seeing). Furthermore my mother controls everything which makes me go crazy: financial situation, things I buy, school etc. For example she found out I bought whey powder which she threw away because she doesn't want me to use it.

I have talked about moving out once with my parents, when I was about to go to college. When I mentioned it my mother started crying. This is a cultural thing and brings somekind of shame on the family(typical muslim cultural bs). So I gave in and now I'm traveling 2 hours total to school and back everyday.

Today I decided this situation is holding me back in my life, because I can't make my own decisions and need to move out. But just taking my stuff and moving out will tear the relationship I have with my parents apart. I don't think I am able to bear the pain it will do to my mother. Eventough it is my life they have made some incredible sacrifices for me for which I feel I own them for the rest of my life.

So my options are:

  1. Not move out and being held back in life, even feel depressed sometimes because of it.
  2. Just move out no discussion, which I'm not sure I will be able to bear because it will tear the relationship I have with my parents apart.
  3. Confince them somehow that I need to move out. (I'm very dedicated to my study and spend long days in college which causes me to come home late, which they are noticing and living closer to college would be a good option for my studies)

What would you guys do and how would you go about it?
