Hi, my attorney has been charging me $280 a week, but I'm not sure what for. It's been 10 weeks, and we still don’t have a custody agreement drawn up. My ex and I only share two car loans and some medical bills. I have contacted them, and there has been no response as of yet.

I digress. My ex and I have a verbal agreement regarding custody: I have the children for three nights one week, and she has them for four nights that week. The following week, we flip—I'll have them for four nights, and she will have them for three nights.

So, I'll have the children from Saturday night to Wednesday night at the moment. My ex recently asked me to drop the children off on Sunday night and pick them up on Tuesday, but she sent this request an hour before the pickup. I decided to ignore her message to avoid any issues with the custody exchange. After I got home, I explained to my ex that I would be taking our child to the doctor on Monday, which is why I didn't agree with her earlier demands.

Shortly after that message, my ex texted something like, "What you’re saying is that you will not be dropping the children off on Sunday night."

I want to clarify that I never agreed to her request. It feels like my ex is trying to trap me into saying something that could make me look bad in front of the court.

Since I can't get in touch with my attorney, do you have any advice on what I should say to my ex to avoid causing any trouble?
