Instead of changing who /u/wonderingon1 is, focus your energy towards changing what /u/wonderingon1 does. Stop pushing away your social circle, go to the gym, do awesome things, and do social things.

You don't have to push away friends that aren't doing what you want to do. If you have time to give them, give it to them. If you dont want to always be one of four guys sitting on your friend's couch every Friday night playing Halo, then start by having something better to do on Friday night. You're retreating into a comfort zone and blaming them for your failings.

I used to be the same. Losing your virginity is not as big a deal as people make it out to be. Chances are that when you first do it, you will regret for having waited so long. There is no such thing as the "right chick" to do it with. If you want to hire an escort, then go for it. It's not a big deal but it will be disappointing and you will forget about it after a day or so and will try for other women. You want to change your personalty and that will take a really long time, effort, experiences. Till then, try to make friends who share the same purpose and goals in life as you do. Making friends is not a magical phenomenon. Just start by making conversations with random people at a uni or a social setting. Most people love to be heard and share their experiences but are not willing to break the Ice as they are too shy. You be the person who does that. Start exercising but why do you completely want to desert yourself from the rest of the world. Start by approaching women today and going out with your current friends. I'm sure they are not bringing you down in any way and it's all in your head. You can't expect to change your personality by sitting in a corner, friendless.
