A career you enjoy in the place where you live vs living in a place you love but having a career you don’t like

I feel like you're asking a different question even though you're not.

Stability, or everything you want, but, you're at the mercy of what you want in order to keep it?

If the house, family, love, friends and status you want are dependent on specific aspects of your life remaining a certain way, what you do is the main thing keeping what you have in your possession. If those aspects change, you're likely to lose what you're doing it all for.

If the thing you seek is uplifting your entire life, like a job you enjoy doing and do well, it's more likely for YOU to stop that situation vs anyone else.

I'd personally choose stability. I already have a bunch of social and intimate experiences that while I loved deeply, I'd rather not have had because now that I've had them, I want them again when I was better off not knowing what having any of that felt like. To express my opinion in a statement... Wedding cake is the best cake I've ever had, but had I not had it, I'd likely enjoy other cake more, again.

I'd rather move places to be in a career or at least work a job that I like.

I cannot be dragging my feet to work everyday just to deal with shitheads and comply with assholes simply due to somewhat attractive factors like being where I live or having a higher pay.

Working environment or conditions is number 1 priority.

It's very interesting what we as men would be willing to sacrifice to be competitive. I have chosen the harder path of the competition, to stay out of comfort but for the greater good of the family, but my partner is fighting daily with me for it.

Before starting a family, I was in a very stable career, with comfortable living quarters and standards. When I found out we were awaiting a child, something changed in me, like a spark of fire telling me I don't want to be what my family has been all these years, no generational wealth and greedy towards eachother.

I took 5 years of our savings and opened two businesses in my field. 1 of them being abroad, where I travel 6-7 months out of the year to attend until it can run on its own. I'm yet to see the fruits of the labor, and that can take another year or two, maybe three.

I provide and support my family to the fullest so she can take care of the baby, and their living standards are amazing. She doesn't have to work. However, to do this, my own living standards are appalling, and I'm separated from my family a lot of the time, constant arguing and I work like a donkey, so when I get to my 50s and 60s, I don't want to endure what most of my generation of my side of the family has endured, being poor and dependant on government support. I also have a dreadful feeling that our government will not honor the pensions and will just keep increasing the eligibility age, so I won't even see that.

Stay strong and keep grinding out there, where there is no risk there ain't no reward either 💪🏻.
