If you are asking if it is more of A MAN to live alone or in your parent's basement, I think we all know the answer to that. The only exception to this rule is if you are at your parent's place during highschool, at which point you really should focus on schooling over income.

You see, the big deal is that living alone forces you to jump into the real world, because you have to do your own shit, and shoulder the responsibilities of self preservation and shit. Women dig that, and conversely, women laugh at the idea that you have a curfew or have to ask your mom's permission to bring a girl home to your bedroom.

Live alone in a new city. Fresh start. On your own. There is no safety night. Makes you hungry.

There are a lot of very good personal finance books at there. Go to any public library and you'll find a shelf of them. Pick any 2. They all basically say the same thing. "Richest Man in Babylon" has good general principals. Suzy Orman or someone like that will have good basic info on 401ks, insurance etc.

The question is, how would those 400$ benefit your life in particular.

For example, I live by myself, but if I were to move back to my folks place, I'd be saving a little more than that, which would allow me to buy a bigger bike in half the time I can do it now.

Thing is, I can't fuck three plates a week if I'm back at my parents house, and after living alone for three years, there's no fucking way I'm paying for a hotel room to fuck a plate.

In summary, if saving that money allows you to invest in something that will help you, then do so, if not, living alone not only increases your SMV but also makes you grow as a man.

That being said, personally, I have no respect for men that live with their parents just because "it's easier", to avoid responsibilities. Those are not men those are kids with hairy balls.

Living alone in a new city > living with family

You can do whatever you want and start over. It's very liberating. I've done it almost 4 times
