I’m retired LE and my divorce was finalized in 2022. We separated after 19 years of marriage and, before our divorce was finalized, in 2022, she was sleeping with someone else. She spent the US stimulus check “we” received in 2021 retaining an attorney (who is now a district judge here). I didn’t have an attorney and a thief lawyer ate up my retainer emailing and calling me. He never filed a thing, despite me writing the writs for him in reference to her repeated violations of the decree. She violated the decree over and over and I couldn’t do anything about it. I documented every time she did though. The decree says we’re both joint managing conservators but, she decides the primary residence for our kids. She also receives $500 a month in my SSDI in lieu of child support. Now, she’s sent me a message requesting half payment for ADHD testing she had done for our daughter. I would never deny my child anything. But, I wasn’t consulted prior to the testing and the testing wasn’t considered medically necessary. I’m not inclined to give her a dime for it. Would a judge actually find me in contempt for refusing to pay her?
