I do my half of the house chores while ALSO doing all of the vehicle maintenance and home renovation stuff (rewiring, drywalling, yardwork, and all the little house repairs and patchwork).

And of course any time something heavy needs moving, that's on me, which has directly resulted in a lifelong lumbar disc injury.

The thing is, I recognize all these activities as being their own reward. I like working toward improving the household, because it directly benefits me and mine.

The payment for cleaning the house is a clean house. The payment for doing the laundry is clean laundry. The payment for cooking is dinner. (none of which is inherently "women's work" anyway)

Isnt the 50/50 split of assets in divorce supposed to rectify this?

When you as a woman do unpaid chores those chores aren't unpaid. They are done to keep the house in order.

And when you leave your man since you lose the benefit of that roof over your head the 50/50 split is supposed to be compensation. You could argue it is unfair to the breadwinner since it kinda is but the 50/50 split in divorces is SPECIFICALLY to pay women for housework done during the marriage.

The “Unpaid Labor” and “household chores” discussion never includes: Mowing the lawn, trimming trees, landscaping, cleaning gutters, winterizing the house, summerizing the house, killing vermin, fixing leaky pipes, electrical repair, drywall repair, moving heavy items, checking “on that weird noise at 2am”, car repair/maintenance ect ect.

In these traditional relationships, how is the men compensated for buying the family house, paying the food/clothes for the family ...?

Does the family pay him for the money he pays for them? Or is all that compensated and 'out of love'?

These people are always half-blind, and then surprised that they don't see anything in half of the picture
