Hi, I'm a young adult male who has a lot of mental health struggles and unfortunately that means it's hard for me to get a job and even get out of the house.

There's always been this cliche or trope about guys who live in their moms basement and how they MUST be losers and must be terrible or have neckbeards or something but sometimes I wonder why no one would care if I was in the same situation but as a woman.

It's a double standard, it doesn't matter as much if women don't get a job after school or if they live with their parents or if they don't have anything going on with them for years at a time, because they have different expectations laid out for them, even with the most 'open-minded' people.

Unfortunately, it's different for men. We're always the loser, It's always our fault.
