What do you guys talk about when you meet a girl on social media and you want a relationship or friendship with her?

I had always struggled to go beyond the basic conversation with girls when I text them online, i don't know what to talk about after introducing myself. Can you guys please tell me what to talk after that to keep her engaged and push conversation slowly for friendship or a relationship.
