Full text: I love my husband very much, but a lot of things I see online that describe the “role” of the husband do not apply to us.

Things that are usually mentioned:

-husband should provide

-husband should protect

-husband should be handy around the house, and take on the manual labor responsibilities (mowing lawn, fixing cars, etc)

-husband should lead

None of these things apply to us, so what are other masculine roles?

-I make more than him, he works part time, but we split bills 50/50

-we live in a super nice area, there’s no reason to “protect” the house. Plus, he’s not really able to protect I guess? Like if we were ever attacked we’d both have to fight lol

-we live in an apartment, so no repairs or mowing lawns.

-car repairs are outsourced, we just take it to the shop.

-leading I guess I don’t really understand, we usually make decisions together, but any large decisions I usually lead

Do you feel like he has to be the masculine one? If so, why? Not every relationship is going to follow red pill principles and that's just fine. This is just one model for relationships, it's not the ONLY model. We ladies here believe it's usually best but only because it's what most men and women want. Not ALL of them want it and there's plenty of successful relationships where the roles are reversed or more 50/50.
