Why do some straight guys say they are not gay and dont care about another guys looks , but yet show a preference to be nicer to a guy when he is fitter or look better physically after a weight loss transformation ?

People like more attractive people, nicer buildings, higher quality materials, and cleaner streets. It is why unless relevant to the story, it is the default in the entertainment industry but not in real life.

The halo effect. People automatically ascribe positive traits when you're more visually appealing (regardless of their desire to bang you). This phenomenon is well-documented.

Those suffering from acute idpol poisoning would call it "pretty privilege".

Gay man here. This isn’t a sexuality thing, and has nothing to do with being gay or straight. Humans show favoritism towards more attractive people. Physically fit is deemed more attractive. Just how humans are hard wired for reproduction.

Tbh I think society tends to treat people better if they look good. Being sexually attracted to the person is irrelevant .

Because "pretty privilege" isn't limited to sexual attraction. If you look better, you get treated better- that's just how animals are.

In general people just treat attractive or fit people better. I’m hetero and attracted to women and nothing will ever change that. But I can look at an attractive or fit man in person or in pictures or videos and say “wow that dude is hot”. I don’t want to touch him or get to know him. I’m just acknowledging that he has it going on. Not hiding my sexuality and I’m not ashamed to admit that I have seen guys and said “damn I wish I was him”. Hell, it would be so much easier to be gay I wouldn’t hide it for a second. On the flip side I can see an attractive or fit woman in person or in pictures or videos and I definitely want to touch them and get to know them. Of course I don’t acknowledge their attractiveness because that’s a criminal act. Probably a lot of guys out there like me.

Sometimes they're just being nice. You never know, it might be someone who's active here.

It might actually be just bros supporting bros who they see are actively trying to make a change, which I think would be a pretty cool thing to see. Considering all the stuff I see on Instagram, a huge portion of men are sick of, and quick to call out, the rediculous behavior from the opposite sex. So there may be some level of camaraderie resurfacing in a way that we can't tangibly measure yet.

I'd take it as a W. And chances are, if you get any compliments from women, they're the type you wouldn't want anyway.
