Just left the gym. While I was there, a woman approached me and asked me a question while I had my ear buds in.

If they want something (potentially you) they will be open.

I've read on here and AMS says that you shouldn't bother/approach a girl who's wearing earphones, as it means they don't want to be bothered. But lately I've noticed girls giving me strong IOI's who are wearing them, haven't approached, and now feel I've missed out.

At a basic level, you should always approach girls that you are interested in, but learn the practical techniques for doing so, keeping in mind the social dynamics.

Girls with ear buds got solved years ago

Make eye contact, talk to her, loudly, don't have "approach body language", and she'll remove her earbuds because she wants to hear what you have to say
Have approach body language and mimic her pulling out her ear buds by pretending to pull out your own invisible ear buds.

That's off the top of my head, and there are probably other more clever ways to cut through the noise. There's plenty of simple PUA tech out there that doesn't involve canned stories, backhand compliments, and feather boas. And if you aren't actively looking for that stuff - a lot of the red pill knowledge in terms of dealing with females is WASTED.

At a higher level, it sounds like you don't know any proper PUA technique which the Red Pill is built upon. And you don't seem to understand where RP diverges from AMS says, or where RP practices diverge from PUA practices.

AMS does not cold approach. He only approaches warm targets. StephisCold doesn't do cold approaches either, or he doesn't try to mentally wrestle with a girl, she's gotta be submissive to him early on.

But by doing that, those guys let women control who they talk to. That's not PUA, and not really Red Pill imo.
