Nope, I'm not talking about the usual kinds of false accusations men have to deal with in society.

What I am talking about are the kind of false accusations that have gotten this place quarantined to begin with.

Accusations such as:

  • MGTOW are just a bunch of men who hate women/are misogynists.
    The truth is, while there is hate involved due to various people going through the red pill rage phase, it is a lot of misdirected hate toward, not just women, but toward society, culture, other men and even toward one's self.
  • MGTOW promotes the hate of women/promotes misogyny.
    As mentioned above, the misdirected hate isn't just directed toward women, but on top of that, the hate isn't even promoted. Rather, the men here encourage each other to overcome their feelings of hate and move beyond it. The end goal is not to hate society, not to hate culture, not to hate women, not to hate other men and not to hate yourself. One of the goals of going one's own way is to achieve self-actualisation and let go of the things that make your life miserable.
  • MGTOW promotes violence against women/domestic violence.
    Violence in general that is not absolutely needed for self-defense is seen as something abhorrent by a lot of people here. We often talk about how men are abused by their female partners and how horrible that is because society and culture chooses to ignore them. Just because many of us hold that opinion doesn't mean with think violence against women is acceptable as a result. Violence against others in general is something to be avoided.
  • MGTOW wants to control women.
    Seeing as this is a philosophy based on individualism, controlling others would go against the importance placed on the sense of individuality. We choose to go our own way just as women choose to do the things they choose to do. We do nothing to force anyone to live as we choose to live. If you're a woman and you choose to do the things you want to do, no one is stopping you, go for it.
  • MGTOW is just feminism for men and is on a mission to tear apart the sexes.
    As mentioned above, this is a philosophy based on individualism. The men here don't want to control what you say and/or do the way feminism tries to control what people say and/or do. We're not trying to change the world, we're only trying to change ourselves. On top of that, MGTOW is a symptom of the broken social contract between men and women, not the cause.
  • MGTOW are just a bunch of incels.
    "Involuntary celibates" also known as "incels" are very different from a man going his own way. One of the key characteristics of an "incel" would be that they demand validation from women and feel that women owe them this sense of validation for existing. A man going his own way seeks to find validation from within rather than relying on validation from others, whether it is from women, other men, society or culture. In addition to that, most men here have been married at some stage of their life or have been in one or more long term relationships. Some also have one or more children. About the only common thing we all seem to agree upon are: don't get married to a woman, don't have a long term relationship with a woman and don't cohabitate with a woman.
  • MGTOW are just a bunch of white alt-right nazi's (or what have you).
    Let me be blunt. I'm not white, I have brown skin. I'm not alt-right, the closest political alignment I would subscribe to would be classical liberalism, maybe, perhaps? I also have some pretty left leaning ideologies as well, but I'm certainly not anywhere near part of the ctrl-left/SJW crowd. And I am definitely not authoritarian or believe in any kind of fascist or communist/socialist ideology. The fact is, most people here are not white alt-right folk. The men here can be placed all over the political spectrum and are from a whole range of diverse ethnicity/backgrounds/beliefs. The irony is that MGTOW represents the kind of diversity the SJWs would have wet dreams about if they actually put their money where their mouth was and didn't just call diversity a room full of white women.
  • MGTOW just wants to destroy society.
    A lot of the folks here don't want to destroy society, but they have no choice but to watch society crumble around them. Again, being a philosophy based on individualism, the men here don't want to impose their values on others and don't have the power to do so in the first place. Therefore, we don't have the power to save or destroy society. All of that power is in different hands. At most, a lot of people here will, at the very least, laugh as society destroys itself, because the way it's being done is so absurd it's comical.
  • MGTOW says a bunch of offensive things most people don't like to hear.
    This one is 100% true. Congratulations. However, as someone who may not agree with 100% of what is said in this subreddit and as someone who had to flee from my country of birth due to persecution of my ethnicity, I say this: I defend everyone's right to say things that offend you, me and everyone else. I'll even defend the right of a feminist who says she wants to kill all men. At the same time, we have the right to criticise everyone out there just as you have the right to criticise everyone in here. No one should be silenced for having an opinion another person doesn't like or finds offensive.
    On top of that, spreading lies and misinformation about men who go their own way, like the ones listed above, isn't going to work, just like how this attempt to quarantine /r/mgtow is not going to work the way you think it will. MGTOW and /r/mgtow as a subreddit isn't what encourages men to go their own way. It's the fucked up gynocentric society out there that is what encourages men to go their own way. It's the screeching feminists and SJW harpies that make more and more men drop out of society and abandon their cultures that makes men go their own way. MGTOW is not the source of the problem, it is a symptom of a problem, one that you wish to sweep under the rug and ignore.
    The fact of the matter is that the offensive things said in this subreddit need to be said and brought into the light so they can be spoken about, discussed, debated, made fun of, etc. Trying to hide them in a dark corner and pretending they don't exist will only hasten the severity of the problems our society is facing. If anyone out there really does give a shit about what's happening, you need to stop persecuting the people in here for thinking differently and start to try to understand why this is all happening in the first place. However, I know very well that most people out there, especially women, lack any sense of empathy and can't even imagine putting themselves in the shoes of others.
    While the folks here have walked away, including myself, I will say this... I'm still willing to have a conversation with anyone from the outside who actually wants to understand what this is all about and why so many men are walking away from society, culture, women, etc. While I don't give a shit what happens to your society, to your culture, to your people, because I no longer see them as my society, my culture or my people... I'm still willing to have a discussion with you.
