I'll make this to the point.

I just left home from Spring Break yesterday, but while I was down there I met a group of girls and one of them has shown blatant interest in me through her texting me on my drive back.

Everything going pretty solid, showing 2/3 ratio and being cocky/funny as much as possible through text. While down there I made out with one of their friends, and she knows about one night me leaving everyone to go hook up.

Anyways, she told me last night, hours into our texting conversation that her and her boyfriend broke up. Here is where things get interesting and I feel like I entered into one huge shit test:

Me: What was something you wish you could've done on break?

Her: Actually had more fun. BF is reprimanding me for this week

Me: How so

Her: He broke up with me

Me: Sucks for that guy. You're good lookin so you'll be fine

Her: He's still texting me tho. He "doesn't want to deal with me"

Me: That's lame. Come visit me in (CITY). We're havin a huge party on the (DATE).

Her: I will! I planned on coming soon!

(hours later):

Her: Are you going to sleep soon?

Me: Sure am. I'm exhausted

Her: I just need someone to talk to. All my friends are asleep and I can't deal with this.

Me: What you mean, whatsup?

Her: Are you alone?

Me: I can be. I'm exhausted though and I'll be too tired for a phone call. I can stay up and text though.

Her: No go to sleep. I'll be fine.

(2 hours later when I'm catching some Z's)

Her: Thanks for being willing to be someone to be able to talk to. I know I don't really know you too well but I appreciate it so much. I just have a lot going on and my friends arent always the best when it comes to home life stuff. But I appreciate your willingess. I hope your drive wasn't too rough today and your sleep is marvelous! Have a goodnight and thanks again for making me laugh so much this week!

So this seems to be an area I struggle in, not entering the friendzone. How should I have reacted and how should I react. Don't really care too much for this girl but I just would like some learning material. Appreciate it
