I realized that modern feminism operates in a very 1984-esque fashion. For example, I get why there is resistance to the concept of advertising and media that objectifies women and to a lessor extent, men. What I don't get is how people can rationally believe saying "here is the context within which you're allowed to look at and think about other humans" is anything other than an attempt to control other people's thoughts to keep them in line with your idealogy...

This is essentially "thoughtcrime" or "crimethink" in newspeak... By the way, here is the definition of "newspeak" - Newspeak is the fictional language in the novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, written by George Orwell. It is a controlled language created by the totalitarian state as a tool to limit freedom of thought, and concepts that pose a threat to the regime such as freedom, self-expression, individuality, and peace.

Cisgender is the first word that comes to mind... What other instances of modern feminist "newspeak" and instances of "crimethink" can you think of?
