The notion that relationships are about compromise is a widely accepted societal baseline, but it’s bullshit. Your girl should compromise her happiness for you. Never the other way around.

Real life example: so often I see dudes at the shopping mall holding their girl’s bag, while absolutely hating his life. He’s only there to make her happy.

Now, he thinks, by compromising on his happiness by being somewhere he doesn’t want to be, it will make her happy. But what this really does is signify to her that you should be treated lesser than her. That her happiness is more important than yours.

Your happiness needs to be prioritised.

You need to have set of values you believe in so strongly and never compromise on them. If you think shopping is a waste of time be honest as fuck and say that shit and don’t go. Never compromise.
