Social dancing communities for hook-ups? Anybody ever been successful?

I found a new love to dance with sensual bachata. It's really different from typical club dancing because there are steps and moves to learn, and it takes at least a year to become decent. There is a significant investment of time, money, and energy. It might be difficult to navigate these social dancing communities if you truly want to "socialize" because there are frequently cliques or individuals who only attend to dance. I'm wanting to hook up or just casually date as I improve and consider becoming a coach or compete. Has anyone had success in a community like this before? I wholly accept and practice bachata social dance etiquette on where to touch and where not to touch, but I also don't want to be confused by ladies who are flirting or not on the dance floor. For those in the scene, what were your experiences? Should you engage in open casual dating here?

I believe in the don't shit where you eat rule but meeting new people is becoming increasingly difficult since dance clubs and even regular clubs have closed down and few remain.

I hope someone like you can also chime in here. Because of this, I rarely flirt in dance venues that are in my neighborhood. I already sacrifice a significant portion of my life by having to attend classes in the evenings and at night.

For flings and LTRs you can land incredible women if you put the time and effort in. Word spreads fast in the community as dancers meet at least once a week, often multiple times a week.

The older crowd have more flexibility and time. If they have a family backing their venture, they'll have better resources. At the same time, I've yet to meet a very financially well off dancer. I think most, if not all, have a normal job.A t the same time, I haven't yet encountered a dancer who is extremely wealthy. I believe the most, if not all, hold typical jobs. It will probably take a long time to get to "that" level.

But I think I would advise against flirting with consistent goers of clubs as they'll be part of a clique. I also find it fascinating to observe that newcomers to the scene frequently get picked off by players or seasoned dancers. So while trying to find someone can be hard, you are also certain to run into the same 80 percent of people in these communities again. I can also impress and hook up externally and bring them in but there's only a few who actually want to dedicate a good part of their life with this.
