Susan didn't change her husband behaviors. She changed how he responded to her. She changed her behaviors. Same with Sarah.

Changing someone behavior is more like me telling my boyfriend I want him to become a vegetarian. That's not what he believes in. So it's effectively changing him. Both of your examples the woman is changing how she approached the situation to incite a different response. Susan's boyfriend didn't change the fact he likes thin women. Sarah's boyfriend didn't change that he likes to please her.

This is why I told you it's nuanced. The mindset of the woman who changes her ways to change his response to her and effectively improve their relationship is not the same mindset the woman that withholds sex has.

It seems to me that you keep having a problem understanding where the difference is because you still don't understand where control lies. In your "good" examples, the woman molds herself to fit him. She is not changing him. He is responding differently because she changed. An entirely different thing is the extent a woman will manipulate in order to be in control.

It's very interesting to me that you come from a pattern of wanting fixing a man. I definitely see this as the reason why you struggle with distinguishing these behaviors and still see some ways of passive-aggressiveness as benign.

In your own case, I remember you only told him your real feelings if he responded to them in the manner you wanted him to. If he didn't, you recanted them. What do you think you did (or do) this? Do you think this is fueled by an underlying desire to control his response to you at all times?

I don't agree with your examples.

Susan is not changing her man. She didn't change his attraction canons, she changed her shape. She didn't change her man's actions, she just changed her sex actions. You can change the way you toast your bread, using the oven instead of the microwave, but at the end both the microwave and the oven remains the same, components untouched.
