First, I want to say thank you to the veterans here at TRP. Around the time I came on board, some of you were critiquing us newer members saying how a lot of posts are about complaining rather than growing. Like many here, I discovered this place from heartache, and lingered at the "anger" phase much longer than I would've liked. Had I not read your comments about the older TRP ways, I probably would have just stayed at the "anger" phase and kept complaining (it's a lot like masturbation; you feel great, it temporarily fixes the hurt, but the only person you're fucking is yourself).

Still, this article by Upworthy perturbs me. I've followed and liked Upworthy a lot in the past, but some of the recent pieces by them are blatantly colored with a more radical feminism. This piece is the worst for me personally.

I have heard every single one of these on this list, and then some that aren't there (you're still a boy...grown men are ready to be fathers). The ironic thing is that I'm NOT against having a kid in my life. It's not even a matter of finding a woman "fit to be a mother"; I'm not looking for such a woman. There's so much I want to accomplish first, that having a kid isn't even on my mind. Add to that the fact that I mentor some pretty awesome children (that I care about so much that I basically consider them my own), and I have no need to even want to procreate right now.

Yet and still, I've been told/asked all of these by both women and men, and there's no article about this for me. The title of the article could have easily replaced the word "women" for "people" and it would have hit the nail right on the head for anyone. Alas, when women don't want to have kids it's their right to live life however they choose to live, and when men don't want to have children they're any one or more of the following: selfish, immature, scared of commitment, something just plain wrong with them, or soulless goons that hate children.
