I think in the past mate guarding was a essential part of life for a male(e.g animal kingdom) but in this day and age mate guarding as a male is really bad just like providing and putting women on a pedestal is bad but these things are wired into us.

Recently observed in friends with girlfriends always telling me how they will beat up this guy from x class because they flirt with his girl.

Sounds pathetic but it is an instinct and a hard one to overcome. I tried talking them out of this without giving out too much rp knowledge but they go for it and get the short end of the stick.

My question is why mate guarding in women is attractive and praised while ( pretty much know the answer , reeks nerdiness) mate guarding in men is bad for relationshits?

Is it because of the instant gratification we get when we see our partner guarding us in a society where men are disposable?
