I was with my ex for about a decade, starting when we were both 19. She was a good woman overall but had lots of baggage from childhood which I think eventually led to our split. Things that were quirky or tolerable at 19 were unbearable in our late 20s. Lesson learned, you can't fix people.

Fast forward and I recently found out she found religion. After a decade of telling her, "You need a spiritual life" (because I knew I couldn't fix her anger, etc.) and her ignoring me, evidently now she's heavily involved in the church. To the point where she has a full-time job in ministry. No more high powered, ambitious career woman. She was always a good girl so I knew she'd land on her feet, but what the hell? Guess I'm trying to process the switch in lifestyle she's made after I left.
