Those on TRP who advise against marriage, myself included, see that there is no logical benefit to men by being married. There is more risk, i.e. devorce rape and having to handover over houses and other assets, than reward, what is the reward? All I see is putting the woman on the ultimate pedestal, making her the centre of attention and giving her braging rights. And most guys tend to do it because it's expected of them by partners, parents, and general social and cultural expectations.

I'm married and I'd never recommend it. Ever.
Marriage destroys abundance, it immediately puts you in the provider category, and if you are off your shit, you may get friend zoned by your wife.
On the legal side of things, husband/father rights vary by state but one thing is for sure: the wife is always the victim. Always.
