If you ask me, you were totally asking for it. You were probably dressed like a slut, and you got drunk at a party. What did you actually expect would happen, everyone would just respect your personal space and not rape you? I mean, you can't really blame the guy for acting on nature, and that's not even really sexual assault. I think you're just overreacting for attention.

I would probably have done the same. What kind of fucking guy would kiss another guy that was obviously sloppy drunk before making sure it was cool? Being on coke is no excuse. If he was fucked up too, then it's just a case of two fucked up guys punching it out and no big deal.

Former psych student here. I can offer a possible explanation.

Being witness to something as unexpected and action-filled as a sexual assault turned bar fight can cause the body to become very alert and excited. Your heart races, your body temperature changes, and you're ready for action at a moment's notice in case some of the action turns towards you. This is bodily arousal, in the strict scientific sense of the term.

So suppose you're this hostess hoping to apologize after her dumb friend made some really stupid decisions. Your heart's still racing, your body feels warm, and you're ready for action. These symptoms of arousal, as you may guess, are all also the symptoms of sexual/romantic arousal. The mind therefore interprets all of these stimuli as comparable to being in love/turned on.

This phenomenon is described as "Misattribution of Arousal", the interpretation of bodily arousal during or after scary/suspenseful/dangerous activities as romantic or sexual interest. It's the reason why many guys will take their dates to scary movies.

It's interesting to note, though, that this applies to guys just as much for girls. Even the first studies on this phenomenon measured the level of attraction of men to women. Tests studying this phenomenon have continued the question that psychologists have long considered: do our emotions influence bodily changes, or does our body's status influence our emotions, or both?

But like I said, this is only one possible explanation. In any case, sorry that that happened to you.
