Can you take a vacation? Crazy bitch knocking on your door at 1am is your responsibility. But when you're not around, no blame transfer. That would be my move bc she could go nuclear at any point and try to ruin your rep within the family once rejected. Ive been in a very similar situation and my distance (away at college) somehow got everyone jyst seeing her as a lunatic and not holding me accountable. Im sure the same situation if I was around would have meant the women would organize a consensus that I had to fix her or something.

Long delays, nice responses, permanent unavailable. She'll get the hint, but she never has a rejection that she can scream and shout and cry about and tell everyone how you cruelly dumped her even though she was just trying to be friendly.
