Judging by how it sounds like even you coddle and attend to your cousins needs(and I imagine others in her life do to) she sounds like a princess who when met with a man who had basic expectations on her it felt like she was being smothered.

Tell me this, what can a,man provide your cousin that she or those around her couldn't supply? Clearly she can pull wealthy men but maybe this guy had too strong of a backbone. She needs a servant husband.

Maybe I'm completely wrong but the story coupled with your tone towards her says to me this girl isn't cut out to be a decent spouse and doesn't have to be because she has everything she wants

Tough to tell because we don't know how old they are (is cousin in party years, epiphany stage, post-wall?).

Also, we know nothing about either of them. Is she a slut? Is he a beta? Again, not enough info.

Bottom line for you is give advice where you can but realize you can only control you, not others. She got into this, now she's going to have to lie in the bed she made.

(My guess though? She married him for the betabux farm, dream wedding, etc., but never really had the tingles for him. She's too chicken to back out of the wedding, hamsters away that she can learn to be aroused by him, and goes through with it. Now, faced with the reality of her choice, she's panicking and inflating bullshit issues in an attempt to legitimize the fact that she's unhaaaaaapy. Source - my wife's friend did exactly this sort of thing. Married a guy she was never into on that level because he had the makings of a good beta provider. Marriage was miserable, ended in a divorce everyone saw coming. The wedding was done to the nines though, so there's that)

The only thing that stuck out for me, against Andy was the fact that he hit the tray on the airplane. Assuming it wasn't an accident that would be a red flag for me as well. Someone who not only can't control their anger enough to refrain from hitting things, but has outbursts in public as well? I'd be worried.

But other than that, she does sound incredibly entitled. I agree, if both partners are working, living expenses should ideally be 50/50. Unless of course Andy wanted to support her through school, but being 33 that part of her life is behind her.

You saying that he is emotionally underdeveloped though kinda explains her behavior. Not to say that she is completely free of blame, seeing that she had 8 years to ditch him before marriage.

It probably boils down to this.

Your cousin sounds like an entitled princess, and her husband sounds like the classic """"""""""""nice"""""""""""" guy. Meaning that he is outwardly nice, but can get petulant when he doesn't get his way. These two personality deficiencies obviously don't mesh well.
