How do I make real friends.

I don't mean to throw a pity party but I'm convinced that no one actually has any real friends. It's just a complex network of people trying to have personal gains.

Bro calls me out to hang out, turns out he needs a ride, and 2 other favors.

Bro/family calls me over for game night, turns out they are pruning me to watch their dogs over the summer.

Girl wants up hang out, needs that paper written.

Took an inventory of all the people in my life and saw the same patterns over and over.

Not trying to say "friends" don't exists but I will say finding true people in your life is next to impossible.

What makes it worse is putting your self out there aggressively can make you a bigger target. I was Mr. Help everyone /Mr social when I went back to college and people saw me coming a mile away.

As we say so often here, work on your self. I have had a better time working out, reading, hobbies. Then I have had trying to find decent people.

Lastly when you have nothing people smell it on you, they read a sense of desperation, It's a bitch but good luck regardless

ok I'll stop. Judge character and see if you like a person. If they are generous or reliable, open up more to that person and if they don't burn you then hit them up more and bromance them, you'll know you're close friends when you both are hitting each other up to do stuff often. and ofcourse make sure to take a picture with his sisters, say merry Christmas and then get back to business.
