What type of guy is he? He might be scared of something, unsure of his feelings or maybe he just really has a lot on his plate and he cant focus on someone

If he was going to next you he would have done it and not see you again

Unfortunately we cant get into someones mind remotely, i have no clue of what he looks for in an LTR.

Im not good in giving advice, and many more on this sub will do it better than me, im just trying to give you some brief insight into what can possibly be the case

but in any case (take this with a grain of salt) ask him, press on for a bit and see if he tells you the truth, if he doesnt and things dont change, you are the one whos gotta walk out, no point in wasting time

He may be completely serious. For tips on being an attractive woman; lose weight and learn to cook(meat dishes that aren't complex).

Im serious when I say I'd LTR a girl that can cook. I haven't met one from my generation.

We dated briefly, but I got the "there's a lot going on in my life and I can't do a relationship right now" talk

Either:

He hit it and you are sucky in bed/ugly so he is gonna keep you around for a cold night when other options are not there.

or

You two went out a few times but you never gave it up so instead of him saying "I'm not getting any ass so I am moving on". You got friend-zoned. And guys are never friends with girls so don't think you will be over eating pizza and painting each others nails.
