I know of this person, very knowledge, not rude, and knows what he is doing (someone to have on your side). He knows me (for over a year) and invited to his home to help with a few things. Aside from all this, he showed willingness to help and guide me indirectly, and asked what my plans were in the future, etc (for good part of my visit). Personally, I just want some guidance and gain more knowledge because I never had a proper mentor (or motivation), but perhaps to learn more of my capabilities and move forward.

Is it wrong or weird of me to ask without looking desperate. How do I go about doing this?
