This isn't meant as a troll post, but a question motivated by genuine confusion. RP theory seems to posit the following (briefly):

  • Women say they want a certain type of men, but sleep with a different type of man. Women are inherently promiscuous and would rather share/f*** an alpha than date a nice guy

  • Most people have a low sexual market value, due to obesity prevalence in America. Therefore gym bros monopolize the casual sex and relationship market (see: Frat Orc phenomenon). The same is true of women that take care of the way they look.

  • Promiscuity is rampant, especially female promiscuity and is largely perpetuated and ignored by media. RP theory states "all women are like that". OK, let's say you're right.

If all women are promiscuous, overweight, poorly behaved and the 20% of them that aren't are all nailing the same 5-10% of guys, then why even make any basic effort? The logical conclusion to me would be "America has a deeply unhealthy, toxic dating scene." Therefore being a virgin and staying away from sex/dating/romance is logically justified, and even a health decision.

One theory from a 30 year old guy that just got back from Japan, and is somewhat dismayed at the low quality of the local dating pool.
