During the course of our marriage, she became old, fat (230lbs) and lazy. She long ago gave up on wearing dresses, heels and makeup. She bathes 2-3 times a week, smokes "all natural" cigarettes and reeks of patchouli oil. She cleans the house once a month - a perpetual pile of dishes fills the kitchen, garbage overflows, clothes are everywhere and her dog shits in the house. She cooks for shit and mostly eats processed foods. Even though she has years of experience and her last full time job paid near $80k, she "doesn't want" to go back into marketing. No, instead, she bums thousands of dollars from her parents (pulling from her limited inheritance) and works less than 30 hours a week, at minimum wage.

She has effectively given up.

I (finally) divorced her last year and would've cut her from my life entirely, if it weren't for the fact that we share "true joint custody" of our two children.

My biggest concern is the negative role model she presents to my children. I do not want them to turn out like her. In my humble attempt to offset this distinct possibility, I work very hard to be a positive role model. I have my own business, dress to impress, exercise daily, cook from scratch and keep my place spotless. I have faith that they see the difference and the value of it.

I have been happily surprised to find that my value is rather high in the sexual market place. Women are eager to discover a single, responsible and successful man. We are a rare find - I have been told, over and over. I have my choice of a variety of women and believe me, I am only interested in the best. With this mindset, my ex doesn't even register the briefest consideration. Plainly, she is disgusting, to me.

Don't get me wrong, I have my insecurities. I don't feel like I am the best a woman can get. In fact, I know I am not anything particularly special. I have plenty I can and am working on. Truly, this is the source of my second biggest concern. If I don't think I'm so great AND I wouldn't even consider dating my ex, what sort of piece of shit WOULD actually be into her. She's human, inclined toward companionship and I'm sure, eventually, she will find someone, somewhere who will want to be with her. THAT GUY would then be around my kids.

This reality has recently struck me in the face. Apparently, an old friend of her's has reconnected with her. I met him 16 years ago and we (she and I, then) joked about what a piece of shit he was. She, he and I reconnected at a funeral last year, at the start of our divorce. Apparently, they hang out now and went to a movie, last night. I only know because she told the kids. "I'm going to a movie with a friend." My kids apparently pressed for who the friend was and she said his name. After their call, my oldest said to my youngest, "You know, NAME. He's the guy that might move in with us."

WHAT?!

It's bad enough that she's hanging out with this fucking schlub, but move him in with my kids?! Maybe they are JUST friends. Maybe it is only out of convenience. Plainly, I find it completely unacceptable to have a man living with my children. Second to that, the fact that they are both low-value, pieces of shit, they are bound to smash their fat, smelly parts together - instantly creating an even more inappropriate living arrangement for my children.

I will be seeing my ex today, as I have to collect some tax documents from storage in the house. We have a positive co-parenting relationship, can generally talk calmly about complicated issues. I have no way of (or interest in) controlling her friendships or dating life, but I will be bringing up my concern for my children's future living arrangements, today.

Your thoughts?

TLDR: Low value Ex-wife is considering moving in an equally low value man into my children's home environment.

UPDATE: I told her, "While I don't care or have an opinion on who you date or who you are friends with, I am extremely concerned with the idea of a man, any man, moving in with the kids. Even if it were my best friend, I would not be comfortable with that." She apologized for not speaking to me about it before the kids mentioned it. She assured me it was a brief consideration and has since decided against it.
