Just started reading this book as it seems to be highly recommended here and I came across a part where he talks about getting the approval of others. He goes on to say a couple ways of getting the approval of others is staying in shape, combing your hair, etc.
I'm confused on this part and refuse to read further until I understand this. He doesn't go into detail or explain more on it, so basically it sounds like he's saying you should be a fat slob if you aren't trying to gain the approval of others. I don't get it. I stay in shape and keep myself looking good because it boosts my confidence and makes me feel good. I guess in a way it's a way to get approval of others, but there is no way in hell I'm going to stop doing this stuff just so I'm not trying to get the approval of others.
Can someone explain this for me please?
